Time upstate may have inspired Michelle Ochs in the pre-season, but fall sees her firmly back in New York City, where a look out the window of her office and all the construction happening inspired her to interpret workwear in a new way. “We are firmly back to work now,” Ochs said at a preview. “But what does that new wardrobe look like?”
The look: Ochs’ trademark slick and sensual femininity remixed with workwear utilitarian details.
Quote of note: “It’s thinking like in those Donna Karan days, what are the essential pieces,” she said of her fall offering.
Key pieces: Sharply cut power viscose dresses with shiny construction tape details, hoods on a variety of long sleeve tops and dresses, oversized boyfriend blazer, body-con knits, jumpsuits (a piece Ochs says retailers have been coming back to her for time and time again).
