Giving a new market purpose to collections that were previously known as secondary lines but are now stand-alone contemporary brands is a major challenge for several fashion houses, including the Roberto Cavalli Group. Formerly the younger sister of the main luxury line, Just Cavalli now has a very different identity, one that’s young and playful. Run by an in-house creative team, the label for pre-fall mixed and matched references in an imaginative trip along the West Coast to deliver a wardrobe for girls who like to stand out from the crowd.
Sexy with an adventurous spirit, the Just Cavalli girls want to have fun — and not only when the sun goes down. The brand’s passion for prints was celebrated: signature wild animal motifs were splashed on suits with a rock vibe, and eye-catching paisley and floral prints were used on slip dresses and frocks cinched at the waist with Western-style belts.
Archival embroidered denim was photographed and the images were printed on white bull cotton for five-pocket pants paired with fluid shirts trimmed with metallic studs, while the label’s signature devoré velvets and fil coupe silks were crafted into evenings dresses with a fresh feel.
Spanning from cozy knitted cardigans with a grungy look to sexy draped minidresses, the collection will meet the needs of the friskiest girls in town next fall.
