For the moodier Nordic set, Barbara í Gongini exists in a class all its own. This season the veteran designer opened her usually inky lineup with snowy white crinkled flight suits and asymmetrical, cowl-neck dresses. If there was a sense that the designer had lightened up, though, her models’ cadaver-like slap should have served as reassurance; those pieces soon gave way to a great, kinetic black and white print, before eventually slipping into plenty of looks in her signature shade. Best of all? Spring’s jet black trenches and featherweight sheer tops.
