Reem Acra decked out the New York Public Library’s Gottesman Hall as if she were hosting an actual over-the-top wedding. The revamped interiors were courtesy of the famed wedding designer Preston Bailey, who is known for his towering floral arrangements. Here, the extravagant yet classic setting—which even included a long wedding dinner table—reflected Acra’s dresses. They weren’t as bare as in previous seasons, though one stunning sheer number had a fist-size cut-out at the stomach. Elsewhere, she focused on her more traditional silhouettes: One standout ball gown was completely embroidered over with floral motifs, which drifted toward the sleeves.
Acra’s accessories were worth admiring, too. Most of her veils came in a statement-making to-the-floor length and were covered in threadwork. For an outré touch, the fingers on a pair of gloves were encrusted with jewels, plus a few floral appliqués climbing up the forearms.
