Alice Temperley knows her way around embellishment; the lush tattoo embroideries and military cord detailing of her Fall ready-to-wear gave way to some similarly detailed bridal numbers. Spring’s 10 new silhouettes took cues from Hollywood starlets of the ’30s, to an effect that was equal parts classic and bohemian; gauzy necklines and other well-deployed, ladylike touches abounded, while crinkle chiffon and daisy motifs lent ease to otherwise confectionary numbers. Still, it was more than just embroideries and fanciful beading. To wit: the curve-hugging engineered placement of those designs, which all but guarantee that Temperley’s bride will have a silhouette to rival bombshell bridesmaid Pippa Middleton’s come her big day.
