There’s always some sort of fantasy woven into Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig’s Marchesa bridal collections. This time, their inspiration came from a fairy-tale garden. Florals, naturally, were the theme of choice, rendered as 3-D appliqués on gowns with dipping décolletage, or acting as the lace embroidery on a mermaid number.
Chapman and Craig understand the modern bride and the current vogue for destination fetes and multiple ceremonies. Thus, many of the gowns came with detachable skirts, allowing for two different silhouettes in one dress—a feature that will make them twice as marketable.
