Forget office-to-dinner clothes. Founder Eli Azran describes his resort 2021 collection RTA as a supermarket to the club proposition. If it had been open, his customer might’ve spent her lockdown self-isolating at the Chateau Marmont, where this lookbook was shot. In slouchy cut leather trousers or a red sequin tee minidress she certainly would’ve looked the part.
Catering to his demographic has been Azran’s strength, and this collection, produced under COVID-19 lockdowns, proves that even with every obstacle he is not deterred in his RTA mission. In fact, he’s expanding. A growing range of cashmere base-wear turns the corsets and skin-tight trousers the brand is known for into cozy house clothes with vixenish appeal. Shimmering plunge-front bodysuits and a long-sleeve ruched jersey t-shirt dress expand on the boudoir theme, as does a long-sleeve tee with cut-away shoulders. Perhaps the most exciting item, however, is the most incongruous: a mannish boiler suit. It’s styled unbuttoned to the navel, but has the potential to be a hit with a range of shoppers, ones who might not be considering RTA for their office-to-dinner wardrobes. Or, you know, wherever else life might take them.
