Founder Jane Siskin described this Pre-Fall collection as a direct precursor to Fall, which she promises will be an incredibly “luxe” lineup of python prints, jewel-toned silks, and other ’90s touchstones. You saw some of it here, and though the selection was slim, one got the immediate sense that someone had been pinning Tom Ford–era Gucci to their moodboard, particularly with those fluttery peacock blue silks and the python. It is certainly on trend.
The word “kaleidoscope” was used both to describe the brand’s general point of view and the mishmash of textures, colors, and graphics meant to ground this offering. There were layered blouses and dresses that featured the same floral print but that were cut from different fabrics—a matte chiffon over a shiny silk or what have you. The idea had potential, but the execution missed the mark, lacking impact on the whole.
