Andrea Lieberman described the look and feel of her new Pre-Fall collection as “a balance of swagger and elegance.” That translated to clean lines, generous silhouettes, and expressive details, like the extra-wide sleeves throughout. “They’re real clothes in modern proportions,” she explained. That was especially true of the poplin button-downs, slub T-shirts, and cropped trousers, which were refreshingly fuss-free.
The palette is where Lieberman made the biggest statement, from optic white to strong hits of cherry and burnt orange. “Now more than ever, a woman has to carry herself with confidence,” she said. “I’m always thinking about what it means to be a modern woman and how she wants to feel.” A red-on-red blouse and pleated pants was her take on power dressing, a major theme of 2017. How could you not feel emboldened in that head-to-toe color? On the other hand, if you’re more neutral-inclined, Lieberman’s black utility jacket and cotton trousers were faultlessly elegant and, yes, had some swagger.
