Part rock star, part decadent poet, the Cavalli guy doesn't shy away from the limelight—even if the lights are kept quite dark. The new collection was testament to a '70s look firmly rooted in the golden era of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, dashing heroes with a rebellious spirit. The house signature animal prints added a wild, untamed attitude. They popped up here and there on silk ruffled shirts worn with skinny suits or on the back of satin bombers (the jacket du jour), paired with ultra-slim lacquered black jeans. To add a flavor of the exotic, flowery tropical prints were reworked digitally into an artsy pattern for fitted shirts and matching cigarette pants. The tuxedo received a glam treatment in golden gaufre brocade embossed with a python effect; worn with pants lacquered in gold, it made for an iconic look. To make the statement even sharper, Swarovski crystals embellished a mod black jacket, and metallic studs were embroidered on a pair of black jeans (hyper-skinny, of course); the texture was like snakeskin.
