Camilla and Marc's Camilla Freeman Topper and Marc Freeman were casting their eyes heavenward this season. The Sydney-based siblings had flight on their minds, of the avian and airplane kind, and the collection they riffed off that theme did indeed boast a nice sense of elevation. Some of that had to do with materials—an Italian raffia in two tones of check, for instance, had a surprising warmth and pliability—and some of it was due to subtleties, like the palimpsest layering of color-blocked, semi-sheer silks, and the gradient effect on the collection's long fringe. There was a lot of movement worked into these clothes, courtesy of that fringe and of pleating, but the best looks pared that quality of movement down to a captured gesture, like the gray and white tank dress draped off to one side. There was real confidence in the simplicity of that—and an aerodynamism, too.
