Old dogs. New tricks. It doesn't get more cliché than that, but neither does an Hervé Léger number. Lubov Azria's challenge, season after season, is to make the bandage dress feel original. Not easy. For Pre-Fall, she spun her knits into African-print jacquards and used racing stripes to tie up those classic body-con styles. "The two elements seemed to effortlessly work together and complement each other," said Azria. Ruffle hems added a kick, and new silhouettes—including a curvy floor-length, high-waisted skirt—gave body-con fans something else to think about. The fringy pieces were the most fun, but was the overall look transformed? It would be great to see Azria deviate a bit more from the set path.
