Yigal Azrouël brings a distinct, urban viewpoint to his signature line. His contemporary-priced Cut25 collection, launched three years ago, reflects that ethos, but with an identity that's a bit more carefree. This season, the designer explored a concrete jungle theme. A pair of overdyed and coated stovepipe jeans lined in soft gray jersey evoked city sidewalks, as did body-con sheaths cut from a textured jacquard knit. To that effect, Azrouël also showed an architectural, photographic print on colorful separates like novelty sweatshirts and asymmetric wrap skirts accented with signature, tough zippers. Standouts included sporty neoprene bomber jackets and track pants splashed with a playful tropical motif that should have buy-now, wear-now appeal when they hit stores in early summer.
