You always know you're in for a creative theme with Cushnie et Ochs. After bouncing around from Betty Draper-by-way-of-Barbie to Belle de Jour to Almodóvar's trippy plastic surgery film The Skin I Live In, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs settled on a Marie Antoinette-meets-Ancient Aliens construct for Resort. Sounds like they've been making good use of Netflix recently—thankfully, they interpreted the idea loosely. Antoinette's influence could be seen in corsetlike, décolleté-enhancing bust lines framed by soft draping, while a holographic knife-pleat skirt and matching button-up channeled an extraterrestrial vibe. The lineup had a new emphasis on longer silhouettes, which retailers including Bergdorf Goodman have reportedly been requesting recently. We'd like to see Kristen Stewart turn up at a premiere in the hot plum, slinky number with a cool keyhole cutout.
