"Bon-Ton Bondage" was the theme of the Moschino Cheap And Chic collection for pre-fall. The playful C and C customer was never one for whips and chains (and all of that other Fifty Shades of Grey paraphernalia), so it shouldn't come as a surprise that this lineup was more about quirk than kink. Rossella Jardini added "sexy" elements like belt buckle straps, lace-up closures, and bustier details to signature tweed jackets. The designer even tossed in a dose of vampy red lace—in the form of a coordinating tank and trouser set—for good measure. In the end, it was the pieces that didn't try too hard to be provocative that were the most successful. A charmeuse polka-dot shirtdress had an adorable pearl-embellished collar, and slouchy herringbone trousers came with boyish suspenders. The finale look, a crescent moon-printed silk shift that was shown with a fuchsia fox fur puffer jacket, best exemplified the fun frisson Cheap And Chic is known for.
