Misha Nonoo has at least two reasons to be excited about her first attempt at pre-fall. First: "It's so fulfilling, as a designer, to have a collection that will sit on the sales floor for so long," she told Style.com. And second: The range comes as a result of commercial necessity. Nonoo has developed a customer base, and with her pre-collection, she set out to give them exactly what they need. "Layers and transitional clothes," Nonoo said, pointing to one of the most memorable looks—a French-blue cropped alpaca shirt worn over a printed tee with navy cropped pants. The pattern on the T-shirt was born out of an interesting mix; vintage porcelain, the ceiling of an old German gallery, and one of Thilo Heinzmann's contemporary works. Images of all three elements were tacked up on Nonoo's mood board, alongside photos of British model Edie Campbell. "She's young and innocent, but she has that naughty glint in her eye," Nonoo said. Campbell is just the kind of girl who would go for the floor-grazing black velvet gown, with its sheer skirt and sleeves (the designer's first official piece of eveningwear) styled with a short bouclé jacket with gold buttons. Ditto for the white leather dress with a sexy yet sophisticated lace back. Nonoo also expanded upon her Spring knitwear offerings; they were shown here in intarsia and waffle varieties.
