Tia Cibani journeyed to India this season, and while her palette of amber and azure made for an appealing spectacle, her interpretation of the subcontinent's aesthetic heritage felt too literal at times. The traditional angarkha coat that opened the show, for example, fell awkwardly on the model's frame. There were some more inspiring moments: A chic wool coat in moonstone gray revealed only a peek at a gold lamé skirt underneath, striking just the right balance in a collection that elsewhere leaned too heavily toward the obvious.
